Now open - The Pickled Brisket
The Pickled Brisket, run by the husband and wife team, Robin and Flora Slater, has become a familiar sight at street food markets, food festivals, events and pub residencies in and around Bristol since 2015. They've built a loyal following of salt beef fans in the city since then.
Robin was brought up on the best salt beef in the country, eating in salt beef bars such as Selfridges' Brass Rail and the famous Brick Lane Beigel Bake. When he moved to Bristol there wasn't anywhere he could get the type of salt beef that truly reminded him of what salt beef was about while he was growing up. So The Pickled Brisket was born.
They cure locally sourced beef farmed on the Somerset Levels and serve it on bread from a local family bakery. They even have their own mustard produced here in Bristol by Gingerbeard's Preserves. Each sandwich is carved to order to provide a hot salt beef sandwich that would be fit to grace the plate of any New York deli. They serve a variety of different hot salt beef treats including their famous Reuben with blow torched Swiss Cheese.
